Support of local businesses

February 27, 2019

The South Australian Government has announced a new round of export grants for local businesses looking to expand into overseas markets.

The sixth round of the South Australian Accelerator (SAEA) program provides grants for both those SA businesses looking to export for the first time, or thse looking to grow international exports.

PaperPak customer Edible Blooms received a grant at Round 5, supporting their ongoing expansion into New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Europe.

Speaking to The Advertiser, Managing Director Kelly Jamieson said the export support was key in promoting South Australian operations, with Edible Blooms products sourced locally before being distributed domestically and overseas, but also through the creation of employment opportunities in the Adelaide head office.

Pushing the boundaries in more ways than one, Edible Blooms recently worked with PaperPak, as part of the Detmold Group, on a pioneering sustainability project.

In looking to move exclusively to reusable and recyclable packaging, Edible Blooms has replaced traditional florist foam blocks with a cardboard equivalent to hold their bouquets together.
